Copyediting
Your manuscript’s plot is airtight, your characters are three dimensional, and your voice shines through the page. Now it’s time to make sure your spelling, grammar, and syntax are correct. Give it to me, and I’ll make sure your manuscript correct, clear, and consistent.
- Correctness: When I’m looking for correctness, I’m making sure everything is grammatically correct, spelled right, formatted properly, and otherwise in accordance with your preferred style guide. I’m trained in The Chicago Manual of Style 18th Edition, but I can adjust to whatever style guide is needed for a specific manuscript.
- Clarity: Sometimes writing is unintentionally ambiguous or difficult to parse! I make sure you’re effectively communicating what you want to communicate with suggestions on how to improve wording and phrasing.
- Consistency: Authors like to break the rules, and that’s great! I make sure that any stylistic quirks you may have are consistently applied throughout your manuscript.
