Hello! My name is Tate Sears, and I am a freelance editor.
I’m an experienced editorial professional that can help get books to their next stage—regardless of where they are in the process. I value an authors voice above all; I want to help books be the best and most unique versions of themselves. I’ve worked on a wide variety of genres under both fiction and general non-fiction, and in various states of completion. So I’m ready to tackle a manuscript regardless of what level of editing it needs—be it developmental, copy, or line. I graduated from Portland State in 2021 with a Bachelor’s in English, and I’m currently finishing up my Master’s in Book Publishing. During my Master’s program I served as Managing Editor of Ooligan Press where I oversaw several large editorial projects, including the recently published Mystery/Thriller “Echoes of the Lost.” I’m proficient in Microsoft and Google suite products and am trained in The Chicago Manual of Style 18th Edition. I’m open to both freelance work and in-house roles.
